Cork is durable, versatile, and environmentally friendly.
Cork has many attributes that define it as a great flooring option, including ease of maintenance, flame retardant, resilience, impermeability and durability. It comes from the bark of oak trees in the Mediterranean. The bark is gently peeled from the trees every nine years. Trees are not cut down or harmed in any way as they regenerate the bark. This is why cork has won worldwide praise as one of the most environmentally friendly building materials. Today's cork floors can be fine-grained, marbleized or even with a wood grain appearance and are available in various shades and colors, from light honey to dark walnut.
