Sands Commercial Floor Coverings offer a one year installation warranty.
When a maintenance contract is signed at the time of installation, and as long as Sands Flooring Maintenance Services are contracted to provide the maintenance services, Sands Commercial Floor Coverings offer a Lifetime Installation Warranty on carpet tile and an Extended Five Year Installation Warranty on Broadloom Carpet.
Here is what 5 of the top carpet manufacturers have to say about it:
Shaw Contract Group
"Other interim systems: Other methods, such as the Bonnet, provide merely a temporary appearance enhancement because they only absorb at the surface and provide no extraction of deep soil. A spinning bonnet also may damage the pile. Shaw does not recommend the Bonnet method" www.shawcontractgroup.com
The Mohawk Group
"CAUTION: Mohawk does not recommend the use of a spin bonnet, as it can damage the fibers in your carpet. Use will void any warranties." www.themohawkgroup.com
Mannington Commercial
"Mannington does not recognize any claims or warranties where damaged carpet is the result of an ongoing maintenance program that employs the Bonnet Method" www.mannington.com
Patcraft & Designweave
"The bonnet** method may cause pile distortion and is generally used for traffic lane cleaning. The carpet is sprayed with a detergent solution and the machine "buffs" the carpet face using a special pad or bonnet which are changed as they become soiled. Bonnet and rotary brush methods may actually damage carpet fiber and lead to accelerated soiling due to accumulated soap residue. For this reason, this method is not recommended.
The rotary brush** method is a unit with a brush that rotates much like that of a hard surface waxer. A detergent solution is applied to the carpet and agitated to loosen soil. The solution is then vacuumed. However, because the soil is only suspended for a few seconds, the effectiveness is minimal. The strong agitation can cause severe distortion, particularly on cut pile construction. For these reasons, this method is also not recommended.
**Basically, the rotary brush and bonnet methods are modified hard surface cleaning methods." www.thenewpatcraftdesignweave.com
Tandus
"Please be advised that Tandus, including C&A, Monterey Carpets, and Crossley Carpet Mills does
emphatically prohibit the use of any/ all rotary devices/ machines for the purpose of carpet cleaning, physical agitation, and/or speed drying.
ALL Rotary devices, including but not limited to bonnet machines and Cimex triple head machines, will void the manufacturer's warranty. They are considered improper and non-approved, and shall NOT be utilized on any Tandus product." www.tandus.com
